All information regarding the Secondary 1 Registration will be communicated through Parents Gateway (PG) and the school’s website.
Secondary 1 students are to report to Marsiling Secondary School on Friday, 2 January 2026, at 7.20 a.m.
Parents and students are NOT required to physically report to Marsiling Secondary for the registration in December 2025.

1. Principal’s Address
Our Principal, Mr Koh Yiak Kheng, will be addressing our Secondary 1 Marsilians’ Parents and students on our Secondary 1 Parent-Teacher Conference and CCA Fair.

2. Class allocation:

For selected students reading subjects at More Demanding Level (MDL), please be reminded to purchase the appropriate level (e.g. G3/G2) books for the relevant subjects. If in doubt, kindly do not write student name on purchased books (to facilitate exchange of books, if possible).
4. Information on School Reporting and First Week of School
Secondary 1 students are to report to Marsiling Secondary School on Friday, 2 January 2026, at 7.20 a.m.
As students are expected to wear the full school uniform only on Mondays and during special events, your child/ward may report in half-uniform (PE T-shirt with school skirt or uniform shorts) on that day
6. Parent Gateway App (PG APP)
The Parents Gateway (PG) Mobile App is an initiative by MOE to enable parents to interact with schools more conveniently on administrative and financial matters.
Parents will also be able to use this app to stay updated on school’s programmes and activities.
We strongly encourage all parents to download and use the PG APP as the school will be using the PG APP as its primary channel to disseminate information.

For Sec 1 students who are eligible to read subject(s) at a More Demanding Level, our school personnel will be reaching out to the relevant students’ parents after the Sec 1 Registration in December 2025 to provide further guidance.

8. Application for 3rd Language
Results for the application will be informed to the selected students after Sec 1 registration.
Students whose application are approved will have to register online with the respective centres: MOE Language Centre (MOELC) or Malay/Chinese Special Programme (MSP/CSP) Zonal Centres.
9. School Rules and Regulations
Students’ discipline is paramount in creating a safe and conducive environment for effective teaching and learning to take place. The school rules and regulations are put in place to achieve this purpose. The school rules and regulations are clearly stated in the MSS Student Handbook and all students are expected to read and understand them.

11. Social and Emotional Support
To create a more supportive and conducive school environment, the school counsellor will be able to assist students in coping with emotional and behavioural matters as well as other aspects of growing up as teenagers.

12. Special Educational Need Support
In Marsiling Secondary School, we believe that being different does not mean less. Every student is given an equal opportunity to learn and participate in activities. We practice inclusive classroom strategies to support the needs of our students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Our SEN students are monitored and classified into 3 different tiers of support based on their level of needs. Interventions in the form of In-Class support and withdrawal sessions are conducted by the Special Educational Needs Officer (SENO) for students who require additional support.
Withdrawal sessions conducted by SENO are focused on providing skills and strategies in 3 areas of needs as follows: –

Area of Need 3: Social Skills
The support encompasses needs-based interventions and participation of stakeholders involving parents, school personnel and external agencies.

2. | The School Advisory Committee (SAC) | Assistance is given to students facing financial hardship. The nature of assistance varies, depending on the financial position of the student. It ranges from giving a financial grant for the payment of textbooks and school uniform, fees and other school-related expenses (meal and transport subsidy). |
